Team building

Yesterday was the first of two days of a work away day to resolve a number of issues. And it really was quite interesting.

One of the more fun aspects was an afternoon of team building. There were two events, both focussing on the idea of communication and both pretty much the same in method, if not application. Each time split into two and had to describe a building to the other half of the team so that they could draw and paint/build it from the description alone.

And it was great fun.

Here are some of the efforts from the day:

Of the paintings above my team's effort is the one of the Petronas Towers in Malaysia. The winning team's efforts are below, the Sydney Opera House and the Taj Mahal; judged on accuracy, detail and, to some extent, prettiness.

My team chose a slightly different method of modelling the Coliseum, opting for a 2D flat representation which worked rather well.
