It is Bristolcon day. Last year I had been sitting for twenty minutes at the first panel when I received a tap on my shoulder. Three minutes later I discovered that my mum had died.
Luckily the anniversary of that event was last weekend, and it was one made easier by time spent with my brother, sister-in-law and their wonderful kids.
Today is weird. Today isn't the anniversary but is almost made so by association. And, unexpectedly, it seems to have affected me. Last I seriously considered not going to Bristolcon but one thing kept coming to mind - lovely people. Bristolcon is made up of lovely people, who all just enjoy talking and debating science fiction and fantasy. And when you are not sure what better thing to do than surround yourself with lovely, friendly people talking about your favourite subjects?
